The project that I made represents the trauma of abandonment/unavailable parent. The flower that is painted fully black shows how someone can affect another close to them and ruin not only their beauty but someone else's as well. While the third flower is to be regarded as the emotionally or even physically available parent. This all relates to the lessons of "Breaking the Silence about Inter-Generational Trauma," "Healing the Unquiet Mind," "Political thought in the Harlem Renaissance," "Intergenerational Healing."
"Breaking the Silence" talks about how childhood trauma is 7/10 causes of death. Which is ironic, because how do you create someone and then be the cause of them going to those extremes? "Inter-Generational Trauma" explains that trauma is passed down from generation to generation. This is shown on my flower because the bad parents darkness is spread to the child.
